2024 Adventures

There is a chance this will be our last family vacation as a full family. With Nate starting college this fall and Bennett next June, we will see what the possibilities are for future trips as a family.
We started out on Friday (the 5th) and drove down to. Minneapolis area. We pulled into the lake Elmo campground around 6 and Mary and I went to have supper at the melting pot. Even though our anniversary is Saturday, we knew it would be a busy day and wanted to have a special meal.
Saturday Eli had a presentation with th wheel partnership society for his space camp scholarship. Everyone else went to the como zoo and Eli and I went to the CONvergence conference. Eli did a great job answering all of the questions about his experience.for dinner we went to Cossettas in St. Paul and had some pizza. Then off to the races. While we did a terrible job picking the winners, it was fun. Nate and I played a little blackjack in between the final races and I won back most of what we had lost on horse racing.

Sunday we got up early and went to church at the St. Paul cathedral, grabbed some Dunkin and hit the road. We arrived at the apostle islands with plenty of time to get a good hike in. It had been raining most of the afternoon but stopped as we were setting up camp. On the hike we got some good views of the sea caves. We debated about renting kayaks but none of the outfitters called back. Still good times.
