Made it to the pacific

Just like Lewis and Clark, we followed the rivers from Mandan to the Pacific Ocean. I mean the interstates conveniently follow the rivers but close enough.
Starting Saturday morning we woke up and visited some waterfalls. The first one is claimed to be the second tallest year round waterfall in North America. There is some dissent on this but at over 600 feet it was cool none the less.

We hiked around a couple of waterfalls and headed back to the campsite for lunch. We made a quick stop at the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center. Neat place with a lot of history about the Gorge. This is Matthew’s favorite stop. The museum had some interesting facts about the area and displayed the largest collection of rosary’s anywhere in the world. After leaving we were on I-5 for a very short time and noticed the roof of the camper flopping around in the wind. We pulled over at the fish hatchery again and Nate and Bennett went to work. Basically whatever holds the roof down in the front came loose and once some air got under the rubber it split in half.  A little (well a whole roll) of gorilla tape later we were back on the road. There were some screws but they were basically worthless.

We arrived just in time to get to 5pm church then went to our campground. We got to our campground in Kalama,WA and the kids did a little fishing. We went to bed fairly early to get ready for a fishing trip on Sunday.
